Bolton, a town on the eastern edge of Worcester County Massachusetts and about twenty-five miles from Boston, was incorporated as the Town of Bolton in 1738 after a wave of people moving there. Like many towns in the area, Bolton was formally a piece of Lancaster, and was mentioned in the book Herbert West – Reanimator by H.P. Lovecraft. Bolton is thought of as a highly affluent area, as the median income is $102,800. Bolton as an area uses up about twenty square miles and shares its borders with Harvard, Stow, Hudson, Berlin, Clinton, and Lancaster MA.
